Vector and Bitmap
(also known as raster) are two different types of digital image formats.
Vector images are made up of mathematical equations and geometric shapes, such as points, lines, and curves. Because they are created using mathematical equations, vector images can be scaled to any size without losing quality or becoming pixelated. This makes them ideal for graphics that need to be resized, such as logos or illustrations.
Bitmap images, on the other hand, are made up of pixels, which are individual squares of color. Bitmap images have a fixed number of pixels and can become pixelated or blurry when scaled up. Bitmap images are typically used for photographs or detailed graphics that require a high level of detail and color depth.
When choosing between vector and bitmap images, it's important to consider the intended use of the image. For graphics that need to be resized or for logos, vector images are the best choice. For photographs or detailed graphics, bitmap images are typically more suitable.
